Fare Shop sells groceries and household items to local people at discounted prices, helping alleviate food poverty in Wythenshawe

Many people in our community are struggling to buy essential groceries on a weekly basis. Foodbanks allow only limited access. Fare Shop offers a reliable source of essential products at affordable prices. One of our customers said:
"On Monday, I went shopping at Tesco's.
The rest of the day I cried. Everything is so expensive.
My money won't stretch to feeding my family."
Fare Shop is a community shop in Wythenshawe, Manchester. We sell basic household items, hygiene products, groceries, and also fresh fruit and vegetables. We receive donations of surplus items from supermarkets and buy in additional food products from charitable wholesalers and distributors, selling them at low prices to people in need. Most of our products cost between 20 pence and £1.
Our customers say:
"You are heroes, you are angels. You help me feed my family."
"The Fare Shop is my life saver."
The Fare Shop runs mainly on food donations, but every week we buy in additional stock to meet demand. Buying in extra food costs about £250 per week and helps us to support 100 families.
Please will you help us to assist 10 (£25), 20 (£50) or 100 (£250) families for a week?
Donations of any amount are most appreciated.
Our target of £13,000 will support 100 families for a year.

Three trustees - Batsheva, Isabel and John - and 9 volunteers operate a small shop.
Every £1 you give (up to £250) will be matched by Aviva and will help our team to keep the shop running.
Thank you for your support!
