Keep our family friendly safe place

I’m a full time mother of 3 children. I am a qualified nurse who is unable to work my nursing shifts due to lack of childcare. 

Having become very unwell during my pregnancy whilst working nursing shifts i ended up taking time off and using every penny we had to open a family friendly cocktail and dessert bar. This was a chance for me to work and look after my children. I’m not very good at being off work. My mental health takes a battering.

The bar has become a safe place for so many families and those without family. My children and I are there daily, spending time with people we now class as family.

We advocate free warmth and company to those who can not afford to spend money but need to be somewhere warm and safe.
without exploiting people I can honestly I spend more time counselling certain people than I do making money…and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I have not only saved someone’s life using CPR outside the shop I’ve also saved lives by staying until early hours talking and reassuring people.

This business is not just a place for me to ‘work’ with my children but my one child with suspected autism and ADHD has a lot of support form a regular customer who has been amazing with her. My 2 year old son with delayed speech has people coming in and and gifting him toys to help him learn.
we are a big family and I don’t go a day without speaking to my customers whether it be in the bar or on the phone to check on them.

Our staff consists of ourselves and a full time member who’s being a big part of our family. Especially to the children.

We fear that with the cost of living we will not be able to afford the rent as well as staff wages and finishing the garden area.

Although I do the rotas, stock shop, admin, advertising, event managing, party hosting, desserts, cocktails, decorating, cleaning and everything the business requires I just can’t force money to come in at this scary time where the cost of living is really effecting everyone.

Please help us raise enough money to pay the rent, staff and finish the garden so we can keep this family friendly place open….

We really don’t want to close ours doors. We love the people in Barry and will be devastated if it all ends here. ????❤️‍????
