To provide Meet and Eat sessions for LGBTQ+ young people and their families - providing a hot meal in a warm, safe and inclusive space.
At the Kite Trust we envisage an inclusive society where LGBTQ+ young people are healthy, successful and celebrated. We support the wellbeing and creativity of LGBTQ+ young people in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and surrounding areas, through 1:1 support, youth groups, family activities and residential opportunities.

We support LGBTQ+ young people up to the age of 30 and their families; to improve wellbeing, provide a support network, skill development opportunities as well as a safe, inclusive space where they are celebrated and free to be themselves.

We are raising funds to provide our Meet and Eat sessions to LGBTQ+ young people and their families across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. At our Meet and Eat sessions, we provide a hot meal and a safe, warm, inclusive space for families to come together in their local community. Our events enable families to understand that having an LGBTQ+ young person can bring them into a loving and supportive community and help them to build peer support networks.
Courtney, 25, has been going to the sessions since they started. "It's the one place I can be myself," she says. And she adds that the food is pretty good, too. "When you are queer and disabled," Courtney says, "the world can be a very scary place. I never thought I would find a place like The Kite Trust." She has met people through the sessions, and The Kite Trust's other events, that feel "like family".

All funds raised will go towards the delivery of our Meet and Eat sessions - funding venue hire, food and activity costs. Read more about past events in this news article - https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/cambs-lgbtq-youth-enjoy-meet-25836762
