We're still collecting donations
On the 30th March 2021 we'd raised £40 with 2 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Family Garden has been running for 5 years in Exeter St Thomas. Recently, we have become a busy hub for baby and toddler groups, families meeting and socialising, and were a popular venue for holistic and alternative hire, birthday parties and lots more. We have a gentle, holistic ethos- offering wooden toys, events around the seasons of the year and a warm and nurturing environment, where families can grow together.
The Coronavirus pandemic has hit us hard financially. We are on course to make a loss this financial year and due to the dates of easing of restrictions, we are unlikely to be able to trade much before September as we are usually open in term time only.
We need to recover some of our financial deficit to be able to cover our costs, but we would also like to see this as a GOLDEN opportunity again: to reflect on what we do well, where we can improve, and how to make our site even better for all our users.
Our buildings are old and our garden is a jungle! However, it is a fantastic space, with huge potential and we are really hoping you will share our vision and help us to realise it:
****** A thriving community space, where families can grow together. *******
With these funds, we hope to:
- repair and improve the play structure in the main garden and build a second play structure in the front garden
- repair the swings
- repair fencing around the garden, build new fencing in some areas
- be creative with our garden- NEW mud kitchens, sand pits, play equipment, shed for storing, expanding fire area, planters and veg growing space
- a NEW pizza oven
- new benches
We also hope to be able to make essential repairs to our building- roof repairs, cementing, painting, repairing the covered walkway which has been damaged by the wind, flooring in our main corridor, better doors on our second toilet!
And finally, we hope to invest in new toys and equipment for our playspace, groups & events. To expand what we can offer and deliver the best early experiences for families that we possibly can!
We really hope you will be as excited about our plans as we are.
Thank you for your support!
