Aim

Can you help? The National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund supports children and families affected by UK custody deaths and killings.

The Fund was first developed and constituted 2025 in conjunction with the Friends of Mikey Powell Campaign, The United Families & Friends Campaign (UFFC) and Migrant Media. Organisers also acknowledged the late campaigner, Pauline Campbell, who died in May 2008.

A core part of our purpose and mission is to support families and individuals that have been impacted by deaths, killings or abuse in state custody. Through such contact we offer practical and wellbeing support to those affected, but do not drive their political or campaigning activity in this respect.

Due to significant drops in donor income in recent years, we were forced to close some of our grant programmes in order to manage our limited finance resources.

For example funds would be available for:

  • Promotional materials (banners, t-shirts, badges, business cards etc)
  • For help with stationary, postal and related items or equipment
  • Help towards travel costs to events, inquests or conferences
  • Assistance towards the costs of counseling or therapy services
  • Support with essential household provisions and bills
  • Short holidays and family respite breaks

The fund is administered centrally by 4WardEverUK, with application panels located around the UK via hub campaigns and organisations such as Red Alert HELP!, INQUEST, A Fathers Child Services CIC, Red Alert HELP, Migrant Media and others.
