Fabulous698B Supper club does GILVIC cafe & events

GILVIC is a creative space, working as a cafe during the day, offering amazing food in a comfortable atmosphere, and is transforming into an event space in the evening, continuing the 5 years of Fabulous 698B Supper clubs and events.

Since mid March, the COVID pandemic has had an impact on everyone, we had to cease all activities and have used this time to plan and create GILVIC. Safety of our customers and staff is at the heart of the project, and that comes with extra costs!

Adapting the space to follow government guidelines regarding social distancing, masks, hand wash procedures, and creating some IT solutions for the reservation system, or contactless payments, demands some extra investments. We are also looking to upgrade the kitchen with equipment like a combi steam oven, a kitchen aid, and a bread mixer, to improve the already high standards for the quality of the food we serve.

Our project is to create a welcoming cafe where the local community can meet, work, have a good coffee or a bite to eat, and socialise (with distancing!), and where an array of collaborations with artists, galleries, chefs, sommeliers, suppliers and more.

The exchanges between creative minds will continue in the evenings with supper clubs and special events.

We, Maja and Guillaume, after working in hospitality for many years, have created, Fabulous 698B Supper clubs and events 5 years ago. We have hosted a wide range of dinners, public and private, hosted in lots of different venues, our flat on Holloway Road, and spaces like the Design Museum in Notting Hill, the Swiss church in Covent Garden, the Borough Barista in Piccadilly, The Pill Box kitchen in Bethnal Green, Vagabond coffee roastery in Islington, and even a Flower shop on Hackney road!

Our passion for food and hosting is always our guiding line to make our projects a memorable experience for our guests.

We have, for the last couple of years, been looking for a place to settle the business, and create our space where the adventure continues!

We are looking for an investment of £5000, which would be spent to cope with the COVID rules (£1000), upgrade our IT systems (£1000), develop further staff training (£1000) and improve the kitchen (£2000).  With your support, we hope we will reach this target, and we are setting a second aim to be able to buy a combi steam oven (£5000)
