Fable - a show created in the rural UK - is heading to New York. Playing off-Broadway in the wonderful Soho Playhouse - we'd like your help.
Formed in 2011, we're a theatre and arts company based in North Yorkshire, in the UK. We make work across the UK, from theatres in London to village pubs in the moors to halls in the Scottish Highlands.
Now, we've been invited to take a show to the bright lights of New York. This is the first time we'll have taken our work to America - it's a very exciting step. We've worked with loads of brilliant people over the years and it's amazing that we get to do some of that in the Big Apple.
So, alongside some wonderful help from Greenwich Theatre, we need to get ourselves to New York. Then we'll run for 10 days at Soho Playhouse from the 20th October. As well as an amazing chance to perform our work, we will also use the time to meet and chat to as much industry out there as possible so that we can begin some relationships for the future - we very much see this as the beginning of something.
Fable, the show were taking, was conceived in the Highlands of Scotland in a tiny, brilliant village called Ardfern. We previewed the show at Latitude Festival and the ran at Summerhall during the Edinburgh Fringe.
So we - all of us who are a part of this show - would like to humbly ask for your help. Maybe that's money towards flights, accommodation or the production; maybe that's a contact for some folks in New York who might come watch; maybe that's an offer of accommodation; maybe you own an airline; maybe you want to come and wave us off!
Whatever you are able to give in any form, we'll be very grateful as we set off on a new part of our adventure.
