FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely

Aim: To ensure all women and girls feel safe moving around the city, and empowered to explore their experiences through our creative workshops.
In April 2024, we launched a new pilot project called FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely in partnership with Fiona Freund, Award Winning photographer exploring girls experience of travel in London. Using creative methods, art work was produced and exhibited, as part of the campaign for change ensuring that women and girls feel safe travelling around the city.
FREEDOM 2 is a charity based in East London, which offers a variety of creative programmes for girls. FREEDOM 2’s vision is that all girls will be free from exploitation, that they will know their worth and significance, that they will have a voice, reach their potential and empower others.

Our hope is to extend this work further across London to amplify the voice of girls and to educate what constitutes as harassment and how to report these crimes.

- One FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely workshop for 10 girls
- One exhibition to create a space for a wider discussion on how to create safe travel for girls
The more we raise, the more workshops we can run, so we'd love to raise enough to support as many communities as possible and continue campaigning for safer spaces for women and girls. Our initial target of £5000 will help us achieve these goals.
We will be walking a half marathon across London, to highlight the challenges Women and Girls face daily, raise awareness and funds to continue our work.
