Please help! Eye & DCC 2020 Crowdfunder is here! Covid19 impacted us massively, help us provide Cricket for All. Donate or take a reward
Eye & District Cricket Club as been a part of the town of Eye for over 200 years. We are a small rural cricket club that have made huge strides last year to work with the community to make it a better place to work, live and play.

Unfortunately, like others we have suffered from the covid 19 effect. We have had to cancel all games and practice sessions this year so far. As well as our fund raising activities for this year and little sign we will open up again soon playing normally.
2020 How we help the wider community
This was going to be the year we continued to help out the community. We had started well with our Winter net sessions at Hartismere School in which the juniors got back into the swing of things. We then planned to hold our first Jumble sale at the TownHall in early April, a special VE Day Big Bash with a game against the town folks and visiting relatives of the American air crews that were based in Eye during WWII, BBQ's and Quiz's. We have reached out to other charities, schools and businesses in Eye & District to see how as different organisations we can help each other out.
Covid put a stop to most things. We have loaned equipment out to juniors so they can continue to keep active at home with parents.
We helped out with food deliveries during this time, alternative food options for those isolated and overall tried like most in Eye to be a good neighbour.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP
We have plans to support the return to normal life and ensure we all benefit from the participation of sport. The physical and mental benefits are well known. We are prominently a summer sport and as things stand we do not appear to be able to get out and enjoy the open space, exercise and friendships that we all know cricket brings us. We want your help to make cricket available to all throughout the rest of 2020 and well into 2021 with greater access to the sport of Cricket indoors.
WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THE FUNDS WE RAISE:
TRAINING: Extra Junior and Senior training throughout 2020 into 2021
1) We want to provide extra off season indoor training and coaching. This will enable us ALL to try the sport for the first time, become more active, all winter long. Open to all.
>We will need to pay for the halls.
>We will need to pay for the extra coaching sessions.
>We will need to buy new equipment to cover the need for smaller groupings.
>Coach the coaches: to improve our ability to deliver now and in the future.
2) We also want to have girl/ladies only sessions again to promote the sport among new participants, getting active and back into sport.
3) We want to run novice sessions for schools year's 4/5/6 (Eye, Thorndon, Occold, Palgrave, Gislingham, Wortham) in and around Eye. This will engage with a new generation of players and parents and get them active.
We want to provide this free of charge.

CAPITAL :We want to offer everyone the best experience and receive the maximum benefit that physical exercise brings to all the people in our community. To do this we have plans to improve our facilities.
1) We need to update the facilities which are in need of repair following the recent damages to the roof and the changing rooms. We hope to improve it for the use of all and their families when the club is in use.

Ceiling damage in the changing rooms with mould that must be repaired.
