Express Tuition offers extended learning opportunities to disadvantaged children and ESOL, employability, and training sessions for their parents. We aim to ensure that all learners at our centre are being offered a real learning experience where they can be heard as an individual. Our main objective is to teach people the skills they need to reach their full potential and strengthen their confidence.
Express Tuition has helped transform the lives of disadvantaged young migrants and adults through the provision of extended learning opportunities. So far, we have organised academic lessons, career days, CV writing support, seminars about how to get into employment, and supported our beneficiaries to plan their future.
Our primary beneficiaries are those who come from challenging circumstances, low-income families, and EAL (English as an Additional Language) backgrounds. The majority of the target attendants have been observed to have low aspirations, low self-confidence, and self-esteem thus being at risk of long-term unemployment.
We are proud that we enabled hundreds of young and adult learners to achieve higher competence and performance, which also improved their self-confidence and esteem as well as increased their chances in the employment market in the UK.
We believe our services aid community cohesion by bringing community leaders and members together and providing a different social platform to exchange ideas, make new friends, and learn. Although we have no actual statistics, we can safely say that we can reduce or at least aid in diminishing anti-social behaviour, crime, and inequalities within local communities.
Express Tuition was founded in response to local demand in North London, and this demand has significantly increased following the pandemic and the current cost-of-living crisis.
With this very project, we will be able to provide an extended level of service for our disadvantaged migrant communities over the next few months by keeping our premises open for longer days and hours. Our project will enable our beneficiaries a warm space where they can improve their skills to increase their chances to find meaningful employment opportunities, solve their immediate financial problems, and receive individual guidance for their personal queries.
We will spend the money raised to pay for the relevant expenses to keep our premises open on more days and for longer hours. The costs will involve administrative expenses, fees for the teachers/trainers and consultants, cleaning costs, and expenditures associated with the rent, bills, stationery, photocopies, and resources needed with regard to increasing our capacity for the proposed project.
