The core principles of the NHS are under threat.
At the end of November, the Chancellor will announce a new Budget and we’re deeply concerned it will open the door to even more private sector involvement in the NHS.
We’ve seen what happens when private companies gain a foothold in the NHS. Private Finance Initiative (PFI) schemes were once sold as innovative funding solutions. Instead, they left the NHS with £21 billion still owed for projects that continue to drain NHS budgets today.
We believe that NHS privatisation is bad for patients, staff, and the future of the NHS itself, and the last thing we need is more private partnerships.
What We’re Doing
EveryDoctor is a campaigning organisation led by doctors and supported by 1000s of NHS staff members and patients. Since 2019, we’ve been fighting for a publicly owned, publicly operated, and properly funded NHS, where every staff member is properly supported and every patient receives excellent, timely care.
We think the Labour government is about to announce new private partnerships for the NHS; and so we’re getting ready to find out what’s going on.
