Aim

We’re building something London has never had before. We’re creating London’s first purpose-built equine therapy centre for young people.

Right now in London, thousands of young people are struggling. 

Out of school; struggling to engage in therapy; feeling stuck. Traditional support often doesn’t help. 

But something different happens when they meet a horse. 

At Strength & Learning Through Horses, we’ve spent 15 years proving that when young people connect with horses, they start to reconnect with themselves. They regulate, build confidence and begin to move forward. 

Last year alone, 648 young people came through our gates and the results speak for themselves: 

• 93% improved confidence  
• 84% improved mental health  
• 100% improved relationships  
• Many returned to education or gained qualifications  

This works. 

The challenge we now have is that we don’t have the space to meet the demand.

So we are building something London has never had before; we’re creating London’s first purpose-built equine therapy centre for young people. 

A place designed specifically for: 

• Therapy that actually engages young people  
• Education for those who can’t cope in classrooms  
• A calm, outdoor, non-judgemental space to rebuild confidence  

We’ve already raised £400,000 to secure our 40-acre site. Now we need your help for the next step. 

Our First Goal: £45,000 for a new stable block & covered work area 

Our horses are at the heart of everything we do. They are the therapists. The teachers. The bridge. They deserve stabling that reflects their importance. 

This crowdfunder will build a new stable block and covered work area; creating a safe, dry space where young people can work with horses in all weathers. 

Right now, sessions are limited by rain, cold and inadequate facilities. This build changes that. 

It means consistent, year-round support for young people and a calm, protected environment for those who find indoor spaces overwhelming. It will also provide safe, permanent homes for our therapy horses  

And here’s where you come in: 

👉 Every donation, however small or large buys a brick or panel for the stables 

Why this matters 

• These are young people who: 
• Have been excluded from school  
• Won’t step into a therapy room  
• Haven’t left the house in months or years  

And yet… they come here and engage, discovering a positive future. 

As Olympic gold medallist Carl Hester said: 

“These are young people who have often been written off elsewhere, and horses reach them in a way nothing else does.”
