Exilio Latinx Pride @ Pride in London

Aim

LATINX PRIDE created by London's longest-running LGBTQ+ club night, EXILIO, aims to give visibility to the Latin community at Pride in LDN.

EXILIO LatinX Pride London is a project created by London's longest-running LGBTQ+ Latin club Nights, Exilio, established in 1996 by Gloria Elejalde.

Exilio has been taking part in Pride in London for over 15 years and has also participated in Brighton Pride, Black Pride, and soon to take part in Notting Hill Carnival, Hackney Carnival and Manchester Pride.

Exilio LatinX Pride Float aims to bring together the LatinX LGBTQ+ community to celebrate our rebirth after being locked away for over 2 years of the pandemic.

Exilio needs to raise £10K to put the LatinX Float at Pride in London 2022 - LatinX Pride will give the LatinX LGBTQ+ community of London Visibility, Unity, and Equality, and this year will be Intergenerational too.

Representing the Latin LGBTQ+ community Exilio LatinX Pride will parade through the city displaying a variety of colours and the most vibrant carnival decorations. Behind the Exilio float, we have pre-hispanic giant puppets and butterflies accompanied by Colombian traditional dancers “SOMOS CHIBCHAS” and Brazilian drummers  “BAQUE DE AXÉ”; a London based band playing traditional Maracatu Carnival percussion. On the decks, with the best Latin hits, we have Exilio's resident DJ and international sensation D J G - one of London’s top female DJs accompanied Dj Don Omar. Performing on the Exilio float will be Roce 40 the Latin owned record label bringing Carnaval Bangers Bora Bora & Tiki Taka songs featuring P Man, Guala, Don Jaga, La Famosa & Fly. Alongside them, we also have Londons Latin superstar Sachellys, Inspired by the sounds of salsa legends and mixing it with a splash of R&B Sachellys created her own sound as a Colombian straight outta London. 

The theme that we have chosen for the parade is MARIPOSAS (Butterflies) which will be displaying all the colourful and vibrant colours of LatinX Pride making it the most captivating of floats.
