Who are we?
We are Exeter College Women’s Rugby Academy partnered with Exeter Chiefs.
The Academy is a group of Elite 16-18 year old girls, who alongside their studies, wish to pursue a career in professional rugby.
Each year the Academy produces a number of girls playing at Under 18 International level and for the last few years, the college has been in every RFU/AoC Performance ACE league final with this year culminating in the team being able to play the final at Twickenham.
They have also seen success at many 7’s competitions including the infamous Rosslyn Park 7’s, when this year 2024 the girls were victorious and won the tournament.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are planning an exciting tour to Vancouver, Canada in the Summer of 2025. There will be 42 girls travelling on tour and the cost for each girl will be approximately £2300 with kit costs to add on top. We strive to be as inclusive as possible and do not want any of the girls to miss out on this experience of a lifetime.
How we’ll spend the money raised
On this basis, we are trying to fund raise as much as possible to meet some of the £2300 cost. Plus additional costs for kit.
Tour Benefits
The focus of the tour will be the girl’s participation in numerous matches with local Canadian teams, providing invaluable experience. Canada is currently ranked as one of the top women's teams in the world and a hotbed for women's rugby and competition.
There will also be a chance for some sightseeing at popular tourist sites including Granville Island, white water rafting in Chilliwack, Stanley Park and Capilano Suspension Bridge visits, Grouse Mountain skyride and even a chance to go whale watching. What an opportunity of a lifetime it could be for them to all go!
How you can play your part
We will using this page to collect funds for individual sponsorship and fundraising events.
There are a few simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success! Whatever you can spare can help towards reducing the costs for all the girls. Please reference your pledge with a players name if they have contacted you directly for sponsorship. The funds are split between all the girls.
2. Join us for one of our events. Events can be found in the rewards section of our page.
3. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
