Project aim
I want to write and draw a graphic novel about the life of tv/film star Patrick McGoohan ('Danger Man', 'The Prisoner', etc.). It will be based on my stage play (of the same name).
About the project
After writing the stage play 5 years ago, I have performed it at a variety of venues in Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, and Portmeirion (where The Prisoner tv series was shot). Patrick McGoohan has always fascinated me, and I believe his 1967 tv series 'The Prisoner' to be an absolute classic, and a wonderful example of innovative film-making.
My graphic novel adaptation will run to approx 120 pages in black & white, which will take me 5 months to complete. The £1000 I am asking for will allow me to buy paper, pens, ink, etc. It will also help me to survive, as the time involved will be 40 hours a week (meaning I will have little time to earn an income elsewhere). I have a small independent publisher willing to take the book, but I will only be paid from the sales.
