Cost of Living Boost

Aim
To create a safe space for women and girls that will support their health and wellbeing, education and personal growth.
Evergreen is a female-led charity with an aim to provide access to a comprehensive and inclusive programme of activities that meet the needs of the female community in Derby. It aims to increase health and wellbeing with a holistic approach and inspire and empower other underrepresented communities through education, mentorship, empowerment, extra-curricular activities and health initiatives.
We are now in the process of securing a permanent building to house our services, where we need your support to make it happen!
The aim of the building is to serve the local and wider community through the delivery of short courses, workshops, clubs and services catering to the needs of women and girls in Derby. It will be a place of learning, personal and communal growth and social inclusion.
Evergreen aims to increase the services we currently provide. Some of these planned services include:
- A sports facility area that will host recreational activities such as archery, Pilates and strength-based classes.
- A community kitchen that will organise cooking classes and serve our outreach programmes by providing for those marginalised members of our community who are struggling under cost of living crises, the homeless and refugees.
- A social space to reduce social isolation and loneliness and be a space for women and girls to take respite in a place of safety.
- A youth mentoring programme that will support girls with their personal development and future plans.
- A homework space for girls to study in a quiet, inviting and supportive atmosphere.
- Short courses and workshops on topics relating to personal development and growth.
- Skill-based workshops that will support mental health, social inclusion and personal development.
- A signposting and form-filling service that will help individuals access the support they need.
