I am supporting Ilaria granddaughter a talented driver who has worked hard and been selected for the British team.
I am raising money to support Ilaria a young carriage driver aged 13 t years, who will be representing Great Britain at the European Junior Carriage Driving Championships in Romania this August. This prestigious event occurs only once every two years and offers an unparalleled opportunity for these young athletes to showcase their skills on an international stage. Her cousin Henry (also 13 years) qualified as an individual driver but has stepped down because of the costs.
Both children have dedicated countless hours to training both themselves and their ponies to reach an advanced level of competition. The costs involved are significant, including FEI registration fees, height certificates, specialized training, and travel expenses necessary for gaining experience and meeting selection criteria. As a grandfather living on a pension, I am finding it challenging to cover these expenses alone, for my granddaughter and her pony.
The competition is intense, particularly from Eastern European countries, making financial support crucial for our young team members. Your contribution will help cover travel and participation costs not only for my granddaughter but also for the other British Young Drivers team of 14 competitors across various age groups.

I have forgone my driving competitions as Ilaria drives my lead pony and he cannot then go on cross country twice at any event.
