Our Head Chef, Mark McCabe will be a private chef in your own home.

This prize is an exclusive dinner party for you and your friends, in the comfort of your own home!

One lucky entrant will win this money-can't-buy opportunity to have Ethicurean co-owner and head chef Mark McCabe, visit your home to cook a delicious feast for you and five guests.

On the agreed date, after collaborating on a menu, Mark will come to your location to prepare, cook and serve a one-off, five-course course dinner party for your group of six. This prize is a rare chance to enjoy Michelin-quality dining in the comfort of your home surroundings!

Prize 2

Private hire of our Ethicurean snug, for your party of 10. 

Let us wine and dine you into 2023, with full private hire of our snug. You and your guests win the full 'Ethicurean Experience' - beginning with a leisurely stroll up through the garden and a welcoming hot broth. We settle you into the cosy bar, with cocktails and snacks, before you move through to our private dining space, complete with its own wood-burning stove. 

Over the course of the evening, you'll experience an array of seasonal courses paired with a complimenting wine or non-alcoholic libation. To conclude, when sated and merry, we invite you to take blankets out by the fire pit to toast marshmallows and sip a wee digestive under the stars, before heading home.

Prize 3

Foraging walk with The Ethicurean Founder and wild edible expert Matthew Pennington.

Our final prize winner can invite three friends to spend an afternoon learning to harvest nature's bounty, with foraging expert Matthew Pennington. Matthew will take you on a guided foraging walk, helping you identify and harvest wild foods, before returning to the restaurant to learn how to rustle up a delicious meal from your findings. 

Limited to a group of four in Bristol or the surrounding areas. To be redeemed between April and June.

The Cause

We're not going to lie; it's brutal out there at the moment. Independent hospitality businesses are facing the perfect storm of tricky conditions. From increased energy costs to staff shortages and ongoing supply chain issues, we are by no means out of the woods. 

Here at The Ethicurean, we are fighting to do things right. We have become a living wage employer and ensure that all staff can maintain the best possible work-life balance. We work to support local suppliers and small farms and spend what's needed to control our ecological footprint. 

Our whole industry is facing a challenging winter, and our beautiful but out-of-town location means we've always been less busy over the festive period, as guests opt for the bustling bright lights of the city centre.

So many of you helped support us during the lockdowns, and earlier this year, when we asked you to dig deep for Ukraine, you once again showed up in force...

This time, we’re asking you to consider buying a ticket (or as many as you feel able) for our Crowdfund Prize Draw, in support of the restaurant itself
