Who are we?
The origins of AFC Uckfield Town can be traced back to 1880 - so not too long after the beautiful game was first invented!
We are a volunteer run football club intent on reestablishing ourselves at the heart of the local community. We currently run five football teams; our first XI, reserves, ladies, and two u18’s in collaboration with Uckfield Grasshoppers JFC. We are very proud to return ladies football to the community after a twenty year absence.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Over recent years our passionate locally based committee members and volunteers have worked tirelessly improving the facilities and football experience for players and supporters alike, however due to the spiralling costs of running a football club we desperately need community support to tackle essential works, and help us secure the future of our historic club.
We have refurbished parts of the building and improved facilities however due to its age the maintenance requirements of the building are hard to mask - the rear part of the building, including changing rooms and physio rooms are definitely NOT water tight, and leak like a sieve! The repair to the roof is essential work, and vital to our clubs ability to fulfil fixtures and retain its league status.
Recent photos below showing just some of the internal damage caused by water ingress due to the tired roof.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Despite our best endeavours we are unable to make the club house wind and water tight without significant outside investment - We are simply unable to generate the funds needed without your kind and generous support. It is our intention to use money raised to repair the roof and make the building weather proof, enabling volunteers to dry out and make good the internal ceilings and walls.
Community impact
Established in 1880 in Uckfield we are so much more than a football club with 140 current playing members, we have provided football in the community for generations. A wind and water tight club house will enable football to continue at the Oaks, and also provide a vibrant and versatile community hub for meetings and events.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Please don’t delay if you’re going to support us because urgent works are required to limit further damage!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
