A CONCERT OF MUSIC COMPOSED BY ERIC WETHERELL
Eric Wetherell has been involved in music-making for most of his 90 years, and has devoted much of the last two decades to composing and performing music in and around the South West. He has composed a huge range of music - from full operas, orchestral works, and choral pieces to chamber music, solo songs and even a saxophone concerto.
To celebrate Eric's music in his 91st year, we are staging a very special performance at St Mary's Church, Stoke Bishop on July 9th 2016.
Bringing together musicians from across the South West and beyond, we will rehearse and workshop some of his pieces during the day, and then enjoy a summer's evening concert in the beautiful surroundings of Stoke Bishop. Following the performance, we will enjoy some wine and refreshments in the hall, and you have a chance to speak to Eric and the musicians.
We need to raise funds initially to help us book an orchestra of a suitable size to stage Eric's music properly, as well as cover the cost of the church hire, programme printing and refreshments.
Any profits we make at this concert will be donated to the BUI Prostate Cancer Appeal.
