The project aims to to support members of our community by enabling them to overcome barriers with finance and poor mental health.
Our organisation was founded on the principles of social inclusion and community outreach, individual wellbeing that leads to stronger and more stable local communities through education and psychological interventions. We provide free access to high-quality counselling and educational services, responding to a real need in our local areas for more emotional intelligence and empowerment, financial independence and social cohesion. Breaking the barriers of social and health inequality, limited access to psychological support and counselling, financial and social deprivation, increases confidence and determination, and empowers individuals who may otherwise not be positive and active participants in society. Thus, our services aim to integrate these individuals into the workforce and increase social engagement. Our vision is a long-term, sustainable, and holistic approach, incorporating several disciplines and offering an expansive and tailored provision: from traditional counselling to psycho-education, from practical guidance to campaigns for mental-health awareness. Our family of volunteers, tutors and practitioners is our strength and what enables us to keep making the positive impact for which we are known, and to increase capacity and resilience of our local communities in the North-East.
Here, at I.M.P.A.C.T Northeast, we are committed to treat everybody fairly and considerately, allowing them to become empowered (take control over their lives) and build resilience (ability to face and overcome hardship). The funding we receive will allow us to expand our service and meet more members of disadvantaged areas and communities who face a lot of discrimination (racial, sexual, financial, etc.) and stigma (particularly around physical and mental disabilities). They will receive support through group therapy (such as the "men's group", "music therapy group" or the "bereavement group"), our family support unit (including but not limited to food parcels, advice and guidance, financial planning workshops), or one-to-one counselling (by qualified psychotherapists using a wide range of therapies and tailored approaches).
Be part of this change with us and help us to create a brighter future for our local communities!
