Community, Connection & Growth for Black Women

Aim
Creating community spaces, events, and mentoring that connect, support, and uplift Black women across the UK.
Sistar Syndicate CIC was created by Bianca James to provide intentional, culturally responsive spaces where women of African, Caribbean, and wider Black heritage can connect, reflect, and be mutually supported, with future programmes planned to also support girls.
Rooted in lived experience and community care, we deliver wellbeing-focused events for Black women, centred on community, connection, and collective growth, with plans to expand into mentoring in the future.
Since launching, all our work has been self-funded, driven by passion, purpose, and the needs of our community.
We are initially fundraising £2,000 through this Crowdfunder to support the next stage of our work. This first phase will help us:
- Deliver high-quality community events, covering venue costs, materials, refreshments, and fair payment for practitioners
- Develop our Community Companions Programme, providing culturally responsive mentoring, wellbeing support, and advocacy for women, with plans to extend support to girls as the programme grows
- Build a stronger digital presence so women nationwide can access our work and stay connected
- Strengthen our capacity to deliver consistently, sustainably, and with care
This is just the beginning - additional funding streams will help us expand nationally, run more events, and grow mentoring programmes to reach more women and eventually girls.
Every contribution helps keep this work accessible, community-led, and rooted in care.
This is not charity - it is collective investment in spaces that affirm, support, and uplift Black women.
