We are raising funds to provide refurbished laptops for young people enrolled in our "NextGen Dev" programme with Harrow Council's Youth Justice Service. These laptops are essential for running coding applications and developing valuable skills in app development and ethical hacking.
We started our "NextGen Dev" programme on 1st August with Harrow Council's Youth Justice Service. We have 6 young people currently enrolled and expect more to join. Unfortunately, the donated laptops we have are too outdated for the coding applications we need. We've reached out to major tech companies for sponsorship, but the review process is too slow for our 5-week course. We aim to raise £1,000-£1,500 to purchase 10 refurbished laptops, empowering these young people with crucial skills for their futures. Your support will make a significant, sustainable impact.
Why is this important?
This programme is crucial for providing young people in the criminal justice system with the skills they need to succeed. Learning to code and understand ethical hacking opens up new opportunities and career paths. With updated laptops, we can ensure they have the tools they need to fully engage in the course and develop these valuable skills.
What will the funds be used for?
The funds will be used to purchase 10 refurbished laptops at a cost of £100-£150 each. These laptops will be used by participants in the "NextGen Dev" programme to learn app development and ethical hacking. Any additional funds will be used to support further educational programmes for young people in Harrow.
