In the heart of Manchester's dynamic creative community, Creative Design & Manufacture UK (CDM UK) stands as a treasured haven. An acclaimed award-winning social enterprise, this 5000 sq feet vibrant hub for art & culture is a lifeline for vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalised women & children, irrespective of their background, ethnicity, faith or sexuality, to help them transform their lives for the better.

What We Do

CDM UK offers a holistic personalised support service, offering range of art & textile based workshop, using the unique full range hand processed textile manufacturing facilities that we have. Our aim is to teach people skills that they can use to become employed or self-employed or progress to further education or training. Our focus is to help them become financially independent, through boosting their morale, self-esteem and motivation, which leads to them feeling more empowered and in control of their own lives.

Our Unique Feature

To our knowledge, we are the only facility of its kind in the region or even in the country, with full range of hand processed textile manufacturing technique in one place, promoting & preserving traditional textile practices such as hand knitting, needle knitting, sewing, crocheting, weaving, embroidery, tie dye, block print and screen print.

CDM UK aims to maintain the textile tradition of Manchester by providing an innovative textile hub for the city, promoting the manufacture of high quality, high fashion textile products made by local people, trained  by us.

What We Are Asking For

We need vital financial assistance until further funding has been secured in order to continue our work to support vulnerable women, children and marginalised individuals in need, irrespective of their background.

We want to raise minimum £10,000 to ensure the continuity of our transformative programmes, from art & textile based workshops to holistic support. So, please join us in sparking creativity and resilience, championing our motto 'Little By Little, We Make A Change.'

Please help us to maintain our facility as a beacon of hope, where empowerment thrives. Together, we can continue to offer support and transformation, illuminating lives. Your generosity will maintain our shared vision for a brighter future for those in need.
