we’re opening a bricks and mortar retail and studio space in Manchester city centre, a place to shop, learn, create, and connect.

we are a small slow fashion brand built on the belief that clothing should reflect individuality and craftsmanship in a sustainable way
currently based out of our micro factory in Stockport, our small team of seamstresses handcraft each garment, from start to finish
at Emiko, the team are in a moment of change, with an upcoming move from our much loved Stockport mill to Manchester City Centre bringing the potential for us to open a storefront for in-person connection with our customers, as well as re-starting our work experience programme in which we are able to give students unique experience of working with a small, sustainable fashion brand. We are excited about this change and the prospects for community-building that it will bring

with first hand experience working in the fashion industry of Bangladesh and China, our founder was exposed to the harsh realities of fast fashion, deepening their passion to build a brand that champions local craftsmanship, ethical production, and the values of slow fashion
each piece begins with a thoughtfully crafted design, inspired by the considered silhouettes of Japanese clothing, a love that grew during time in Asia
these designs then spark collaborative conversations with our team, exploring fabric choices and creative methods, before being brought to life by our talented seamstresses who stitch each garment with skill, care, and creativity

our use of high quality, natural fibres resonate strongly with customers who value durability and comfort
our customer understands the importance of investing in well made clothing that lasts longer, provides comfort but ultimately has a fun and unique sense of style, compared to fast fashion alternatives

we have experienced remarkable organic growth through our social media platforms, driven by the genuine passion and enthusiasm of our community
our engaged following reflects the strong demand for our ethical and unisex clothing, built through authentic connections and word of mouth
we are also in the process of diversifying our manufacturing, having been building a relationship with a great factory in London; this will allow us to continue expanding in scale and reach, while ensuring that we continue to keep our sourcing, production, and people local and connected. It is very important to us that our production conditions and materials are ethical and of a high standard, and this diversification is an organic and exciting development of the brand which remains firmly within our ethos

in terms of projects, we will soon be launching a footwear collaboration with Meanforme, a Manchester-born shoe brand who make beautiful footwear from high-quality, well-sourced materials. This collaboration is a wonderful development in our offerings, and we are looking forward to sharing them with our customers
