New stretch target
We will be able to give more money to the Richmond foodbank so they can give food parcels to more people and meet the increased demand on their services.
To help the Vineyard foodbanks meet high demand triggered by COVID 19. We aim to help 100+ families with Rotary matching the first £3,600.

We will be able to give more money to the Richmond foodbank so they can give food parcels to more people and meet the increased demand on their services.
The impact of COVID 19:
Demand for emergency food packs is rising and at the same time the Vineyard’s main sources of donations have all declined. These included regular food donations from local food suppliers who have closed down, and their funds from their charity shop and café which have had to close.
Who we are?
As an organisation which makes things happen both locally and internationally, the Rotary Club of Kew Gardens is very pleased to launch this crowd funding project to support the Vineyard foodbanks in Richmond, Barnes, Hampton, Whitton and Isleworth, in their work. This is the first of a series of fundraising projects we plan to support those impacted by COVID 19 both locally and internationally.
The Vineyard foodbanks are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Rotary is working closely with the Trussell Trust nationwide.
The foodbanks at the Vineyard provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food in each food pack to support local people who are referred to them in crisis. Rotary aims to supply three food packs to each family unit in crisis.
How Rotary Club of Kew Gardens plans to help
Through our fund raising projects, last year, we have a charities budget. We are keen to support service projects in partnership with charities which are providing real support directly to people, who are experiencing severe hardship, because their livelihoods are being destroyed.
For every pound that you donate The Rotary Club of Kew Gardens will match you on a pound for pound basis up to a total of £3,600. That will enable us together to support over 100 families in crisis.
Please contribute to this fundraising project to help people survive the COVID 19 crisis and rebuild their lives.
An example of the positive Impact of the Vineyard's foodbanks.
The lockdown and the closure of schools has left 8-year-old Frank and his Dad stranded and in a very difficult financial situation. Dad says “I don’t know what we would have done or who else we could have turned to if it wasn’t for the Vineyard. We thank you and all those who have donated food and other essentials as your support has been such a life saver for us in this unprecedented crisis".
How you can help
More people than ever before are dependent on foodbanks, so it's massively important that the Vineyard foodbanks are there doing the valuable work across Richmond.
In Rotary, we don’t think anyone in our community should go hungry.
£90 buys three food packs which is enough to cover the period that individuals, couples and families are in crisis awaiting the government universal credit payment
Just £30 buys the food for one food parcel, £60 for two parcels and £90 the three that should bridge families through crisis.
And now with the support of Rotary District, Rotary in Kew is matching your donation one to one up to an initial £3,600 target. Together with a higher target of £7,000 we will be able to contribute over £11,000 - caring for over 120 families in crisis.
Please can you help us with a donation.
Thank you
