Running a hall like ETH is no simple task, it takes planning, hard work and money! Whilst we’ve already managed to raise some funds, we need a good bit more to get us going!

The Moray Council decided in February to close local village and town halls. The loss of Elgin Town Hall in particular would have a massive impact across Moray, not just Elgin, and would hit many local organisations across all age groups. There are simply no large enough alternative venues that can put on the size of events that Elgin Town Hall hosts. Elgin Town Hall for the Community is a community group that was formed just after the Council’s February announcement and we have been spending the time since working with Council officials to ensure that the Hall’s future is secured for the local community. We are not quite there yet but believe that we remain on track to be taking on the running of the Hall from 1st August. We fully realise that running Elgin Town Hall will be no simple task and that it will require planning, hard work and money.

Whilst we’ve already managed to raise some funds, the scale of what we’re taking on requires a good deal more to put the Hall on a sound and stable financial footing. We have had great support and encouragement from the community to date but would now also welcome any financial help that you can afford to make.

We have plans to attract bigger events, as well as more community groups to the hall, to improve its usage and keep it a thriving community building.

We just need your help.

Thank you.
