Create the next generation of grassroots sports leaders who use sport to improve wellbeing, inclusion and leadership.
Who Are We?
TAMHI (Tackling Awareness of Mental Health Issues) is an award-winning mental health and wellbeing charity that uses the power of sport, physical activity and education to improve lives.
We believe that sport is more than just exercise. It can build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop leadership skills and create stronger communities. Each year we engage thousands of children, young people and adults through innovative programmes that combine sport, mental health, leadership and life skills.
Working with schools, communities, universities and sporting organisations, we help 100 young people discover their potential and become positive role models within their communities.
Our Me, We & E programme recently won awards for Best Use of AI and Cross-Sector Collaboration, demonstrating how innovation can be used to inspire the next generation of young leaders.

Why Are We Crowdfunding?
We are raising funds to expand our award-winning Me, We & E Leadership Programme from 2 schools to 7 schools across North Belfast and some of the most deprived areas such as New Lodge, Ardoyne, Shankill, Crumlin Road , Waterworks and Duncairn.
Delivered during enrichment time, the programme develops young sports leaders by teaching them how to plan and deliver games and activities that promote wellbeing, teamwork, confidence and inclusion.
This is sport with purpose and education elements around , financial wellbeing, eating well in a cost of living crisis, getting outside and stopping bad habits such as gambling, addiction which the leaders then all become champions of this behaviour to their peers.
Delivered as a coach education programme - young leaders will be trained in Games, Wellbeing, Community and Financial Information and take 5. They will then go into their Enrichment sessions and deliver sessions for young people.
(Enrichment is off timetable to better ones skills/life opportunities) and after delivering a session to min 8 people they will submit Coach Education Paperwork and gain Leading Wellbeing (FREE on TAMHI) and Intro to Sports.
Working alongside Ulster University, pupils gain practical leadership experience while learning how sport can be used as a tool for positive change. Young leaders then put their learning into practice by leading activities for younger pupils and their peers. We envisage 500 unquie engagements with sports such as Football, GAA, Netball, Hockey and Volleyball ustlised to showcase coaching skills of Leaders.
Demand for the programme has grown significantly, with schools recognising the positive impact it has on confidence, communication skills, leadership development and mental wellbeing.
Funding will allow us to train more young leaders, provide resources, expand delivery and create opportunities for hundreds more young people to develop the skills they need to lead, inspire and make a difference.

Our goal is to create a sustainable leadership pathway that continues long after the project ends.

Community Impact
The impact of Me, We & E extends far beyond sport.
Young people gain confidence, communication skills, leadership experience and a greater understanding of financial and personal wellbeing. Schools benefit from having trained young leaders who can support sports activities, wellbeing initiatives and peer engagement programmes.
The programme creates positive role models who inspire younger pupils, strengthen school communities and encourage active participation in sport and physical activity.
By expanding from 2 schools to 7 schools, we will create opportunities for hundreds of young people to become leaders, improve their wellbeing and contribute positively to their communities.
This investment is not just about developing better sports leaders. It is about developing better future leaders.
