By entering this prize draw with a donation of £5 or more, you'll be in with a chance to help choose our baby elephant's name and enjoy an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience with the elephant herd.
The lucky winner will spend a morning with Whipsnade Zoo’s elephant keepers, helping to care for the elephant herd, learning about these incredible animals, and asking all your burning questions. Plus, you’ll enjoy an overnight stay in one of the magical Lookout Lodges at Whipsnade Zoo.
And long after your visit ends, the name you choose will remain part of this elephant's story for years to come.

- Choose the elephant calf's name from a special shortlist created by ZSL's conservation experts in Thailand.
- Spend a morning with the elephant zookeepers helping to get to know and care for the elephant herd.

Every donation helps to protect Asian elephants and other endangered species around the world.
Right now, wild elephant families face shrinking habitats, conflict with people and the threat of poaching. Your donation helps ZSL (we’re the international conservation charity behind Whipsnade Zoo) to protect elephants across Thailand, India and Nepal, supporting practical conservation work that keeps both elephants and communities safer.
Your donation helps us to work closely with local communities to protect forests, prevent poaching and find safe ways for people and elephants to live alongside each other across important wildlife habitats and migration routes.
The arrival of this calf is an important milestone for the conservation breeding programme for Asian elephants, helping to secure a future for this remarkable species.

The prize
This is a truly unique opportunity to support the elephant herd at Whipsnade Zoo!
- Help select a name for Whipsnade Zoo’s new elephant calf. Our conservation team in Thailand and our Zookeepers will put together a shortlist of potential names for you to choose from.
- Stay overnight at Whipsnade Zoo in the beautiful Chiltern Hills in one of our Lookout Lodges for up to two adults and two children, or one adult and three children. You’ll experience the Zoo after closing time at our cosy lookout lodges, including after-hours tours of the Zoo at sunset, after-dark and in the morning, plus two-course dinner, bed and breakfast, and two days’ Zoo entry. This must be redeemed by end of April 2027.
- You and your family can spend a morning with Whipsnade Zoo’s elephant zookeepers helping to care for the elephant herd and learning more about these intelligent and endangered animals.
Terms and Conditions
- Each £5 donation will act as an entry into the prize draw. You can also purchase entry ticket bundles from our reward list. More entries means more chance to win!
- Entrants must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom.
- The winner will select a name for the elephant calf from a shortlist prepared by our conservation team in Thailand and our zookeepers.
- The winner’s Lookout Lodge stay must be redeemed by end of April 2027.
- The first ten people to donate the £500 ticket bundle will get the choice of either a Keeper For The Day experience for two people at Whipsnade Zoo, or a Meet the Elephants Experience for two people at Whipsnade Zoo. Please note that the Keeper For The Day experience has a minimum age of 16 and the Meet the Elephants Experience has a minimum age of 8. Children under the age of 16 taking part in the Meet the Elephants Experience must be accompanied by an adult with a valid Meet the Elephants ticket. These experiences must be redeemed by end of December 2026. Extra experience places can be purchased at the prices shown on our website if you'd like to bring additional guests.
- The winner will be contacted between 14-17 July 2026.
