To build Element Coffee’s next home - a space for community, creativity and connection, shaped by the people who made it what it is.
Our Story
When Element first began in 2019, the vision was simple: to create a place where everyone felt welcome. I like to believe that vision truly came to life. What started as familiar faces and regular customers slowly grew into something deeper - a community that began to feel like family. Together we shared memories of events, pride celebrations, birthdays, milestones, and countless everyday moments that made the space what it was.
Yet I often felt there were limits to what we could offer within our old space, knowing quietly that one day we would have to say goodbye.
Over the years we faced challenge after challenge: lockdown after lockdown, rising costs and the financial pressures that placed so many small independent businesses in a chokehold. It was only because of this community that we were able to keep going and continue opening our doors to what became a shared home for so many over six amazing years.
As many of you know, toward the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 we faced an incredibly difficult and unexpected chapter. Just days before Christmas, we were forced to vacate our Orion Park unit with almost no notice following redevelopment decisions beyond our control. Despite weeks spent trying to resolve matters through legal channels, we were ultimately given less than 72 hours to clear six years of memories, work, and community from a space we believed we would have a little more time in.
Since then, Element has been without a physical home and unable to trade, leaving the business in limbo while we work toward securing and preparing our new space. It has been a deeply challenging and uncertain period - emotionally, financially, and personally. Something we could never have anticipated nor imagined.
The path we now find ourselves on was never one we expected, but human resilience is a wonderful thing. I truly believe, just as we did before, we will move through this moment and come out the other side stronger and more grounded than ever.
Across the city, small safe spaces for community are slowly disappearing. My hope now is to build a bigger, more beautiful Element - one where I can welcome you all again and where the heart of what we created together can continue to grow.
Today, we’re asking for your help to rebuild Element’s new home.
Having worked for so many years in the coffee industry, I had always felt something was missing. I wanted to bring things back to what mattered most: the community and its people.
For the person who needs a moment away from it all.
For the person whose child wants a happy place to create a memory.
For the person who just needs a quiet coffee and somewhere to turn pages.
For the person who feels a little lonely and wants to connect.
For the person who needs a space to feel safe.
Our new home, just like our old one, will act as an extension of what feels like belonging. Watching you all step into Element was already a dream realised - now I hope to see that dream grow into something deeper and more rooted: stability, security, and a lasting place to call home.
In a city where so many of us feel like we don’t belong, our vision is to create a space where we all do.
Losing our space so suddenly left us not only without a home, but without the resources needed to rebuild quickly. Which is why we are now turning to the community that has always carried Element forward.
Why are we crowdfunding
This next chapter for Element comes with an opportunity we never previously had - the chance to build a space properly from the ground up.
While we have found a location for our new home, the unit itself will be an empty shell that needs to be carefully fitted out before we can open our doors again. Everything from the coffee bar and seating areas to lighting, storage, and the small details that make a space feel warm and welcoming will need to be created from scratch.
Crowdfunding will allow us to build Element in a way that reflects everything we have learned over the past seven years. To create a space that is more stable, more accessible, and able to grow alongside the community that shaped it.
Your support will directly help bring this new home to life - building the bar where your coffees will be made, creating comfortable spaces to gather, and laying the foundations for workshops, tastings, and community-led events in the future.

- A bigger, more streamlined coffee bar, allowing us to serve you better during those morning rushes
- Fresh new decor, while keeping the warmth and familiarity that made Element feel like home
- A wider retail offering, with space to showcase the coffees, products, and small details that reflect everything Element has grown into
- More seating, so there’s always room to gather and get comfy, especially on those rainy days when everyone needs somewhere cosy to land
- A fully fitted kitchen, thoughtfully designed this time around (we all remember the size of the last one!), allowing us to prepare food properly rather than working within the limitations of the previous space
- A proper stockroom and staff area - not just behind a curtain like before

But Element has always been about more than the coffee shop format. This new home will allow us to grow the experiences that brought so many of you together in the first place, and introduce new ones along the way:
- Bigger board games nights with space for everyone to actually sit and stay awhile
- New and exclusive coffee classes, sharing knowledge and curiosity in an approachable way
- Book clubs and NEW community-led gatherings
- Craft workshops supporting local artists and makers
- Summer socials and event hire
- Pop-ups and mini markets celebrating creativity within our neighbourhood
We want our new space to feel warm, inviting, calm, uplifting and above all, safe. Proof that bigger does not have to mean colder or more clinical. A hug to your nervous system at the start or end of the day.
This time, we finally get to build Element the way it was always meant to be - with roots strong enough to grow.
