Access to democracy is essential for society, but comes at a cost. Northumberland Greens need to raise £2000 for General Election deposits.

The General Election is way overdue, but is finally here: this is our opportunity to turn the page on fourteen years of austerity, chaos and division, and to make a bold statement on our priorities for the future – real hope and real change, so as to ensure a safe environment and a fair society for the next generation.

Unlike the old political parties, Greens don’t have overseas oligarchs, millionaire donors or trades unions to bankroll us – we rely almost completely on the generous donations from private individuals, members and supporters like you.

It costs £500 per candidate to stand in a Westminster election – that means that across the four constituencies in Northumberland we will need to pay £2,000 to ensure that everyone has a Green on the ballot paper.

Raising a further £2,000 would enable us to get our message out to voters, in leaflets, on social media, and beyond.

Recent boundary changes mean that the names of constituencies have changed: the four that cover Northumberland are –

Cramlington & Killingworth, where the Green candidate will be Ian Jones

Hexham, where the Green candidate will be Nick Morphet

Blyth and Ashington, where the Green Candidate will be Steve Leyland, and

North Northumberland, where the Green Candidate will be Jan Rosen

You can find out more about them on our website, at northumberland.greenparty.org.uk

The local elections in May showed another big increase in Green success all across the country, so that there are now more than 800 Green Councillors in England, bringing real change to their communities.

In 2021 the first two Green Councillors were elected onto Northumberland County Council (Nick Morphet and Martin Swinbank), working tirelessly in Alnwick, in Humshaugh and at County Hall.

A strong Green vote in Northumberland in the general election will send a message to those in power, both nationally and locally.

Thank you for taking time to read this. We know that times are hard for so many people, but if you are able to help us with a donation, however small, you will bring us closer to the change we need.

Any donations that are not spent by 4th July will be carried forward and will be invaluable in helping our campaigns in the Northumberland County Council elections that will be held in May 2025.

By donating through this page you confirm that you are eligible to make a political donation in the UK, and that your donation is not made on behalf of any other person or organisation. All donations received are subject to the regulations of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.

Promoted by Steve Leyland on behalf of Jan Rosen, Nick Morphet, Ian Jones and Steve Leyland, and the Northumberland Green Party, all at 83 Doxford Place, Cramlington NE23 6DX
