As an Independent candidate in this election, it is just me, I am a single person, raising my voice against what I see. I live in Nottingham, this is my city and a place that I call my home. For the last 20 years, what I've seen is a steady decline in services, a decline in the way my city is managed.
I want to put an end to sky high council taxes, I want to put an end to people struggling to eat, I want to put an end to hungry kids going to school. Nottingham is one of the most deprived city"s in the UK, but yet we're paying one of the highest council taxes in the country. Where is our money going?? We are also one of the top spots for parking fines. So the council is generating enough money through us to run this city, yet despite this, my city is bankrupt. There is financial mismanagement. The council wasted £38m on it's so called Robin Hood energy program. I want to put a stop to this madness. I'm a public sector finance specialist, I know how to read big numbers and have the common sense to make changes. This is something that is lacking at Nottingham city council.
