We hope to elect Pamela Barnes as the first-ever Green councillor in West Lothian this May.
Pamela Barnes is the Green candidate for the Linlithgow ward in the 2022 Council Elections.
I am standing as a candidate in the 2022 Council Elections because it is vital to get Green voices heard so that West Lothian Council properly tackles the climate emergency as a real emergency. We must shift society more quickly towards living sustainably, with the Council doing more to support our local communities make this transition in just and inclusive ways.
Having grown up in Glasgow and Edinburgh, I moved to Linlithgow with my young family in 2010. Since then I have immersed myself in Linlithgow life. I love our wonderful community and have passionately promoted climate action as a Transition Linlithgow Trustee, championing active travel and local food.
In 2016 I became a Community Councillor after leading a successful campaign against local bus cuts. I have over 10 years’ experience in policy, research and communications as a civil servant, and Senior Manager of a young persons’ charity, plus 5 years as a Community Development Worker with the Linlithgow Community Development Trust.
Now is the time for ambitious change. Green ideas and vision are needed more than ever.
Please Note: If you are kind enough to donate more than £50 to Pamela’s campaign your name and address will be checked against the electoral register to ensure you are a permissible donor.
Promoted by Alan Duggan on behalf of Pamela Barnes both at Scottish Green Party, 19b Graham Street, Edinburgh, EH6 5QN.
