Aim

Raising campaign funds to help elect Mike McKirdy to the Scottish Parliament as Labour MSP for Renfrewshire North & Cardonald.

Help elect Mike McKirdy to the Scottsh Parliament

It is a privilege to be the Labour candidate for Renfrewshire North &  Cardonald, standing for election to the Scottish Parliament. As a retired consultant surgeon at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley with over 27 years of experience, I know the NHS in Scotland inside out — and I know that only Labour, the party of the NHS, can fix it.

After 19 years of SNP government, we have widespread failure in public services across the NHS, education, local government, transport and infrastructure.  The people of Scotland, and our economy, cannot flourish in such an environment. The SNP are solely responsible. We must strongly state that and make the case for change.

I am ready to serve as the Labour MSP for Renfrewshire North & Cardonald and I believe we can win this constituency, but I need your help.

We need to raise funds for our campaign to send leaflets and letters to as many voters as possible, and for adverts on social media. Using all the tools available and at our disposal to reach voters and share our positive message. Please donate what you can so that we can end the two decades of decline under the SNP, and win Renfrewshire North & Cardonald for Scottish Labour.

Rules for donors:

Renfrewshire North & Cardonald Constituency Labour Party may contact you using the information you supply in order to discharge their legal responsibilities to ensure donations are from permissible sources.  Donations to meet the costs of candidate election expenses are regulated by the Representation of the People Act 1983 and the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.  By making a donation to this campaign I understand and accept the following:

  • I am donating to the Renfrewshire North & Cardonald Constituency Labour Party.
  • I must use my own funds to make a donation to the Labour Party.
  • If I donate more than £500, checks will be made to ensure my name is listed on the UK electoral register (excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). Any single donations of £500 or under are not regulated donations under electoral law, and therefore the donor would not be required to be on the UK Electoral Register.
  • If I donate more than £2,230 to a Constituency Labour Party (CLP) or more than £11,180 to the national Labour Party in a calendar year, my name and the amount of the donation will be published on the Electoral Commission's website, although my home address will not be made public.
  • Donations are not tax-deductible.
  • Donations made above the reporting threshold will be available for public inspection on request, although my home address will not be made public.

This donation facility is provided for individuals to make donations to the Renfrewshire North & Cardonald CLP.  UK companies, limited liability partnerships, trade unions and unincorporated associations may also make donations.  Please contact the CLP at hello@RNCLabour for more information.

Permissibility checks will be carried out on individual donors in compliance with the rules laid out by the Electoral Commission on donations in election campaigns. You will be contacted by the Renfrewshire North & Cardonald CLP Secretary to obtain this information. Donor details may be published.
