I am DEENA TISSERA and I care passionately about our city and its future. As your Aberdeen Labour candidate in the forthcoming council election I will prioritise our children and young people, our families and our communities to ensure we can all look forward with confidence to a brighter future. By electing me as one of your local representatives on the 5th May, you can secure a strong voice for the people of Hilton, Woodside and Stockethill
As a researcher in Public health, my research is focused on public health and the economic implications of how public health and poverty affects the health of the infirm, poor and the most vulnerable in society. I was therefore delighted that Aberdeen Labour recently established a Fuel Poverty Fund to help people in Aberdeen who have been seriously impacted by the current Tory cost of living scandal. Nobody should be forced to choose between keeping warm or feeding themselves or their families.
Many residents I have spoken to in the ward have said they are delighted with the investment the current Labour-led Administration has made in our children by committing to offering high quality early learning and childcare to all three and four-year old children and eligible two-year olds. I know the important role ELC plays in helping our children to learn and develop through play, exploring and most importantly – having fun.
I know many residents are concerned by the shortage of affordable housing in the city so I am pleased the Labour-led Administration is delivering on its promise to build 2,000 new council homes and has worked in partnership with Registered Social Landlords to deliver a further 1,500 affordable houses. Aberdeen Labour has also frozen council house rents and heat with rent charges again this year to ensure our tenants are protected and supported during the ongoing cost of living crisis.
At the Council Election on 5th May, you can determine two things – who will represent the HILTON, WOODSIDE, STOCKETHILL ward and who will form the new administration at the Town House. Over the last five years Aberdeen Labour has invested substantially in this ward and our city and only Aberdeen Labour will look after hard-working residents and families who are struggling with the Tory cost of living crisis. A vote for Aberdeen Labour in May will be a vote for local decision-making by candidates who will put your priorities and our city first. On MAY 5TH VOTE DEENA TISSERRA 1
