We are trying to raise seed funding for our first Arts Council Bid.
Hi, we are Ekleido a choreographic duo made up of Faye Stoeser and Hannah Ekholm.
In the last years we have both started furthering our careers as dance artists and begun creating our own work.
In 2023 we created 'Splice', a duet that explores entanglement and physical architecture, with an original composition by Floating Points. After a successful run of shows in London and multiple studio sharings, we have had highly energized and enthusiastic audience response to our work, which has encouraged us to continue our journey as choreographers.
This is where we need your help.
We are in the process of applying for our first Arts Council England bid for a new creation happening in summer of 2024. Due to recent demand of our work means that we need ACE support to see things through to highest quality. We have kindly had studio support from DanceEast, Lab13, Create+Destroy and The Place, which gave us the opportunity to continue developing 'Splice' which will be performed at Reune x Lilian Baylis in March, Breakin' Convention at Sadler's Wells main stage in May, Glastonbury in June and at Exeter Northcott in September.
We are very interested in building new audiences for dance, bringing our show to unconventional spaces and collaborating with artists that share the same beliefs.
We will also host workshops in dance schools as well as community spaces to bring dance to a large variety audience, with an age range of 6-60+.
Having a larger seed fund greatly increases our chance of having a successful ACE application.
All the funds will go towards paying for studio space, dancers fees, Lighting designer, Costume designer, marketing, community work etc.
