Aim

Eight Ball Eye is an exciting, new feature film to be shot this July in Devon and Cornwall!

After two years in an institution, Luca's family, lover and hometown turn their backs on him.

Upon release, he and his alcoholic best friend Perran resort to hustling pool and violent crime to survive their financial struggles.

Writer-director Coco Bond here - after our 300-seater sold-out cinema screening of my award-winning last film "The End of Everything" (2025), my team and I are looking to produce something more ambitious and exciting! Our film is going to showcases important issues in Cornwall - alcoholism, mental health and poverty - through the lens of a thrilling action-comedy.

Runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes. Genre: Action-comedy-drama. Indie production filming in Cornwall.

Our spectacular cast: we are fortunate to have several very experienced professional actors excited to star in this film!1770398046_9553b199-81ca-40df-ab3a-31cc8c69eb19_1_201_a.jpeg1770398062_a5fc6a83-e3bd-4512-a705-5ea9f3530514_1_201_a.jpeg

Jill Greeancre - leading star on the BBC show ‘Britass Empire’ for seven years and in the ITV series ‘Doc Martin’. She will portray Luca's bitter mother blinded by hatred who turns the town against her son after a violent incident.

Kevin Horsham - starred in ‘Game of Thrones’, Robert Eggers’ ‘The Northman’ and is a former police officer. He’ll portray a detective on a multiple-homicide case, using his real-life experience on the force to portray his character.

Ryan Noire - worked on huge films like ‘The King’s Man’, ‘The Salt Path’ and the BBC show ‘Casualty. He’ll be playing a hardened criminal after revenge.

Hugo Williams - talented actor who will be the lead character, Luca, who’s trying to get his life back together without limited support after leaving an institution.

Harley Randall -  a very gifted performer who will play Luca’s alcoholic best friend, Perran, who has his own demons to overcome.

Nikita Brownlee - a committed performer who was on the BBC series 'Shameless' and will be playing Luca's curt, stone-faced sister.

Family, Community and Friendship: With his family and community against him, Luca only has his beer buddy, Perran, left to support him. How much help can a friend be if he's unable to acknowledge his own problems? Perran's bad habits rub off on Luca as they drink and hustle to get through the day.

Emotional Core and Self-fulfilling Prophecy: Luca misses his family and partner, filling his void and pain with alcohol. Misunderstood for being wrongfully sectioned, he struggles for hope in a culture that finds it easier to label him than listen to him. He begins to embody the negativity, labels and hate forced onto him as he questions the value of his life and future.

Action and Crime: Throughout the film, Luca is unable to re-enter society and cannot find work, so Perran pressures him into crime and hustling. When the pair get involved with some dangerous criminals to resolve their debts, the film will take a dark turn to bloodshed, murder and police investigations.

Resolution: Luca learns to stop relying on others so much as he grows more independent. He finally addresses his problems head-on, confronting his family, identity and future in a dramatic climax of emotions and action in which truths are revealed and blood is spilled.

The hardworking crew: We have an incredible team of creatives who are excited to put their skills into production of this film.1770397068_ecf71981-5b5f-4435-88c3-03f8df1c02e6.png1770397075_c52357c0-7646-4155-8beb-e93c1a27b63d.png

We have had dozens of other creatives offer their time and skills for this film who we hope to involve closer to shooting dates once we have completed our production schedule.

Every single penny of donations will go directly into the production budget to get this film made. Contributions will be used to finance props, costumes, locations and transport costs that make filming possible. This will not be an expensive film to make, so just a few hundred pounds would make a massive difference to this production and bring the world to life. If we reach our goal, we will be able to run preview screenings of the film around the Southwest and can enter the film into festivals where it will reach an audience and make an impact!

Even if we don't meet our goal, this passionate team of actors and filmmakers will still make this film in Summer, 2026 because we believe in the film, its message and its future.
