EcoHub: Realising the Vision
We’re so close! After months of hard work, our EcoHub build in St Paul’s, Cheltenham is almost complete, and it’s already shaping up to be something truly special.
Once finished, the EcoHub will become the full-time home of charity Vision 21 Gloucestershire, as well as an inclusive community space for climate action, learning, creativity, and connection. It’s a place for everyone, a welcoming hub where ideas grow, skills are shared, and local people lead change together.
🌿 We’ve come so far
The solar panels are installed, the batteries are in as well as air-to-air heat pumps. Our rainwater storage tank is ready to be connected and we're about to begin painting, decorating, and fitting out the office, kitchen, and fully accessible toilet.
We’ve reused, repurposed, and recycled wherever possible: from our pre-loved kitchen to donated furniture and reclaimed materials sourced through our furniture recycling scheme Reclaim. Even our splashbacks are made from recycled plastic!
But as anyone who’s ever watched Grand Designs knows, it's the final finishing touches that can really make the space - however at the same time, by the end of the project we have had to absorb all sorts of additional costs along the way.
💚 Your support will help fund:
- projectors/AV system for virtual meetings, film screenings or events
- accessibility tools like handrails, signage, seating and lighting
- fit out of flooring, storage and flexible furnishing
- decorating and finishing touches like white boards, displays and plants
- landscaping of the outside courtyard to improve drainage, increase biodiversity and small planter growing projects
