We're still collecting donations
On the 24th January 2022 we'd raised £5,062 with 34 supporters in 69 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Our aim is to reduce heat loss at the Y to help with global warming. We have an Eco boiler and need adjustable radiators to match!

On the 24th January 2022 we'd raised £5,062 with 34 supporters in 69 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Our Y family team are formed from a group of people each with unique skills. They are the backbone of the Charity and are supported by the Trustees, each of whom has served this YMCA in a voluntary capacity for at least 20 years and some for more than 40! We have a lot of volunteers too without whom we couldn't carry on. There are our junior Volunteers, Dof E Volunteers, older volunteers all prized and valued highly. Here we have Alfie, a Junior Volunteer, Jack, a member of Staff and Paul our General Manager!
We serve a wonderful community of people who visit us to take part in our various sporting and exercise classes and groups; roller skating; Youth Club; skate parties; free school holiday activities; dance schools, award winning Jigsaw Nursery; Support Groups and so much more. There are around 850 to 1,000 people a week doing a variety of activities in the building. We are proud to serve them.
Last year we invested more than £30,000 in a new eco boiler (I know...boring..) but we now need to raise enough money to partner it with heat adjustable radiators.
(I know even more boring but stick with me!)
We want to do our bit for global warming and this is one way we can reduce our heat consumption and emissions. (You do want to save the planet with us too?)
We are offering YOU the chance to name one of our new radiators!
Spot the difference!
The winning donor's name will go alongside this sweet little radiator's name on a plaque nearby. Donors of the highest pledges will be given the opportunity to either name the Radiator of their choice (as in public facing (10), backroom worker radiatior 10) or to nominate one of the smaller donors to name it on their behalf! Each pledge will attract a reward so you gain in other ways too! Businesses who donate upwards of £500 can also attract some free large space advertising on the hoardings around the sports hall. Donors of £1,000 and up can choose their advertising spot from one dozen spaces. These spaces are viewed by hundreds of people each week. (I know that radiators aren't sexy but I'm doing my best here...)
As one of six Projects That Matter, we are lucky enough to be in with a chance of receiving match funding from East Sussex County Council - available in three stages until we reach at least £10,000 raised. So we need your help to reach our milestones!
(See it's not just us that is eager to reduce global warming!)
The Heartfelt Plea from Judith
Please donate to our cause, give as much as you can. I have loved this little Charity and nurtured it with almost 40 years of volunteering. I have fund raised, I've run the cafe, the office, the gymnastics for many years and I've cleaned and mopped up the blood, sweat and tears of a lifetime of service. It would mean a lot to me to know that this service is rewarded when it's my turn to ask for some help.
I know this isn't Judith...it's her cute dog who is prettier! Oh, OK, I'll put a small one of Judith too....
