We would create a cafe space where people could sit & read environmental books &...
We are opening a shop in Street Somerset, here we aim to sell produce & gifts, run courses & be an information point for local green groups
The money we raise will go towards the fitting of the shop area & the space for the courses as well as some zero waste stock.
We aim to establish a place where people can go for environmental information & products.
There will be a zero waste refill area alongside local food products, Fairtrade, sustainable, plastic free & other ethical gifts. I do the research on brands & products so others don't have to.
Courses will be ran on reducing waste, recycled art, going plastic free, make do & mend as well as other courses regarding the environment, recycling & waste.
Information will be available from local environmental groups when they run events & courses, we hope as time goes on we will be the place to go in Somerset for all your environmental needs/queries.
We will continue our work towards making Street a Plastic Free Village & a Fairtrade village, raising awareness on conservation issues & citizen science projects people can become involved in.
I am part of a small team of people & am registered disabled myself (able disabled) who wish to make a success of this venture, I work full time & have 2 team members who both work one day a week each, our team should expand as we grow.
We also intend to offer places to those with fragile mental health to work towards reintegration into society by helping them with employment & encouraging them & allowing them the safe space to learn, recover & move forward.
There is a wonderful amount of people who give their time, advice & support.
