Aim

To raise funds for legal action at Echo Building with the aim of ensuring urgent improvements and compensation for mismanagement

THIS IS TO FUND THE SECOND PHASE OF OUR LEGAL ACTION

Who am I?

My name is Andre, Yeung, and I am the chair of the Residents Association at echo building.  This fund has been set up on behalf of the committee at the building.

Why have we set up this fund?

At a recent meeting of flat owners, there was a unanimous decision that legal action was now required to urgently seek an improvement to the living environment and safety at Echo Building.  There have been expressions of interest by owners of 55 properties.

What will happen next?

We will appoint an experienced solicitor with expertise in this area who will take legal action against the freeholder (who owns the building and commissions the block management company) on behalf of those who contribute to the fund. To be a part of the action all flat owners will be required to contribute equally on a per flat basis to the fund.

What do we want?

This action aims to secure urgent improvements to the lifts (which are not working), to general communication with residents, to safety works like cladding and to ongoing communal area maintenance works including replacement of floor coverings, painting of walls, cleaning etc.  The action also aims to secure compensation for flat owners who have seen their property prices fall as a result of the mismanagement of the building.

The Residents Association will send requests by email as monies are required.

Thank you for joining this action.
