Easton Community Cupboard

Aim

ECC started as two stacks of crates and has evolved into a shed, with shelves. Now we would like to install electrics, fridge and air con.

ECC started as some extra food and posts on FaceBook over a year ago. We have now evolved to a team of volunteers who donate, collect, organise, arrange home deliveries and give their time and efforts freely. 

The Cupboard is visited 5 - 10 times a day, is run on an honesty basis with a 24/7 camera for everyone's security, and this week surpassed over 700 service users since last May. We also reached 650 individual donations.  

The recent warm weather has resulted in some loss of food and issues with bugs, so we are applying for funds to have an electrician install electrics in the shed; and to purchase a small fridge and shelves, as well as fans, to keep the temperature inside the shed at a comfortable level, for the food and visitors. 

There is a storage cupboard outside of ECC, which has bric a brac, clothing and other donations available regularly; however the current storage unit was not designed for outdoor weather and is in need of replacement with a weather-suitable unit. Any remaining funds raised, after the above have been purchased, will be spent on food items for ECC that we do not get regular donations of.
