Ebikes for Amputees

Aim

Just before Covid hit I raised £500 to purchase an ebike for the Portsmouth Enable Centre. My goal is to buy an ebike for every EC in the UK

Enablement centres work on the recovery and well being of amputees and also paralized limbs. As an ex member of HM Forces who lost a limb due to military service I got to see the work these centres do. They provide a service to both Military and civilians alike. Just before Covid struck I managed to raise the first £500 to purchase an ebike for my local centre in Portsmouth. These bikes are a fantastic way to help in the recovery of amputees, it helps with their on-going fitness and also there mental well-being. Since I delivered the ebike earlier this year 2021, the centre has seen an up take of amputees who want to try the bike out. This has led to a few of them going on to buy their own ebikes so they can once again go on that all important bike ride with their family's. This is a giant step (or peddle) for any amputee, and it shows them that their are no limitations to what they can achieve. I am just a small cog in a huge wheel. With your help I hope to raise enough money to buy every enablement centre in the uk an ebike to help in the recovery of all amputees. This is no small task I admit, however as a Nation we can make a change to the lives of so many. Amputation of a limb effects not just the older man/woman, it strikes children as well. The NHS is strapped for cash as we are all aware, and ebikes are just not in there budget's. So please help me to help so many men, women and children get back a part of their lives so many like me thought was gone forever.
