Pledge £10 and get a £10 voucher for the market, to help provide pop-up tents and tables which will also be available to the community
This is not a donation - think of it as a kind of alternative currency; pledge £10 (or £12 to help cover site fees) and you'll receive a £10 voucher to use at Easton Market.
Easton Market aims to be a weekly hub for local fresh food, creative makers and start-ups. It hopes to bring together the diverse communities of Easton in a vibrant, outdoor location - It will not just be a place to shop, but a place people can meet, share, and try out new ideas. One or two stalls will be available for free for community groups each week, and we also hope to set up a system to redistribute surplus from allotment growers.
The advance payment / alternative currency of this crowdfunder is to help fund the main infrastructure of the market; pop-up tents, weights and tables, in time for the launch on Saturday 8th April (link to launch event page). The more raised this way, the more we support the local community and can avoid the banks...
Here are some examples of things you'll be able to get with your Easton Market pounds;
As well as helping to get the market up and running, the tents and tables will also be an asset to the community, as they will be made available to be hired out at not-for-profit rates. If you just want to make a donation under £10, you won't get a voucher, but it will be much appreicatied and go towards providing free pitches for community groups.
You can use your Easton Market pounds at a stall on any week - and if you don't want to spend all of it, the stallholders will give you your change in pounds sterling.
Here is a little bit more about how it will work...
...and a few limitations and considerations so it all goes smoothly
What your voucher purchasing is going towards
This money will help us get sturdy pop-up tents for regular use, which would be £420 each including weights and weatherproof sides. We would only need weatherproof sides for a few of the gazebos, so this brings the average down to about £350 each.
So this fundraiser will help us to get three pop-up tents, which will hopefully last for many years and support hundreds of traders. Anything above this target will help us get more.
The rest of the tents, tables and other infrastructure we are getting through a loan
