Easter Fundraiser to save Chicken Lives

Aim

To raise the funds needed to build the Little Wing Hospital and Rescue Hen Village, allowing us to save more lives this coming year

As cute seasonal chicks and chocolate eggs signal the start of the Easter hype, we’re launching a spring fundraiser to help us save more little chooky lives. 

All funds raised will go towards establishing Little Wing Hospital and Rescue Hen Village, our temporary hen housing unit and sickbay.

Due to their shocking start in life, the hens we rescue do tend to be poorly and we want to be better equipped to care for them straight away. 

Just two weeks ago we rescued 350 hens, and while most have gone to new loving homes, 16 had to stay with us because of their injuries and illnesses.

Work is well underway on the new housing and hospital – we’ve acquired an old shipping container and lorry top (costing us around £750 in total) and are in the process of repairing and adapting both to care for incoming birds. 

Your donation will help us : 

• to source materials to build a large secure run, with different areas to accommodate influxes of rescue hens, sick and recovering hens, and rescue cockerels 
• to source materials to build a secure temporary housing facility for cockerels in need, whilst they wait for new homes 
• to create a safe, effective area for sick hens to rest, get treatment and rehabilitate 
• to build up our rescue hen medical cabinet, to allow us to treat more sick hens 
• to create the infrastructure that will allow us to take in more hens, do more rescue missions, re-home more of these ladies, and SAVE MORE LIVES!
