OUR CAMPAIGN

East Bergholt Tennis Club is a small but vibrant tennis club with a great membership of adults and juniors and an equally great coach.  Our biggest problem? Our floodlights are failing and we've had a year of almost no income, so we're appealing for urgent help to replace them. 

Our floodlights are ancient, and the light levels on our courts are terrible - in fact, only one meets LTA standards for any level of competitive tennis. Just before the last lockdown one even caught fire. They play a big part in our club - giving us over 2000  hours of play every year - but they are no longer fit for purpose, and they're a big cost to replace. 

Last year was a terrible one for our finances. We really need your help to replace our lights, and secure our short and long term future.

TENNIS FOR EVERYONE

East Bergholt Tennis Club is a 200 member community club. We believe in accessible tennis for everyone, with low fees and a big junior membership. Our Coach, Matthew Watson, coaches over 70 juniors every week, and he's at the courts every day. We also have popular adult coaching and social tennis every evening, and we offer competitive tennis too. We now have a real community spirit at the club, offering social and match play, and also an important source of social and physical interaction for local people. 

HELP SAVE EBTC FROM COVID 19

The last year has been a really difficult one for us all. We’re now desperately low on funds after a year of half price membership and severely restricted play due to COVID.  It's essential to replace our lights, but after a year of very little income, and after carrying our essential work to save the courts themselves from becoming derelict, we have nothing left in the coffers. Without the lights we will struggle to retain and attract members, and our members are our life blood. We have no other resources, so this appeal really is about securing our future as a club.

SUPPORTER REWARDS

We have some fantastic rewards available for our supporters of all levels, big and small. At one end of the scale, a simple £1 donation will get you a cup of excellent coffee next time you're at the courts! We're offering tennis gear and coaching packages. And if your friends and family are not into tennis that's not a problem, because we've really got something for everyone. Pictures by local artists, a recording studio session with a top producer, and even an estate agent's sale commission are all on offer in exchange for pledges of donations to the club.

A CLUB TO BE PROUD OF

East Bergholt Tennis Club is a great little club, and we really hope you can help us survive by donating to our campaign. We urgently need to raise £10,000 to help us replace our ageing floodlights and for essential electrical maintenance and updating. New LED lighting will give us LTA approved light levels on all courts, and they're cleaner and greener too. To do it, we need pledges from over 100 supporters. £10,000 is a big target for a small club, so we need everyone to help!
