Aim

A community event where art becomes a tool for awakening and shifting our relationship with the world that hosts us.

Support Earth My Earth — for Earth OUR Earth

Earth My Earth is a community-led environmental project bringing people of all ages together to explore our relationship with the planet — and how the choices we make every day can create change.

Originally developed in Arcadia, Greece in 2025 by Kynourio Soma, the project adapts to each place and community in which it is created.

For the Dorset edition, Earth My Earth focuses on textile waste, fast fashion and waste colonialism — asking us to consider not only how much clothing we consume and discard, but where it goes next, and who ultimately carries the environmental cost of our waste.

Through dance and performance, workshops, creative making and conversation, participants explore practical ways to reuse, repair and upcycle clothing, while reflecting on our own consumption habits and how we might live more sustainably.

Learning from each other

At the heart of Earth My Earth is intergenerational exchange.

Older people, including those experiencing cognitive change, are working alongside younger generations, sharing memories, knowledge and skills from a time when clothes were more often repaired, altered, handed down and valued.

The project brings together Kynourio Soma and Fingerprint with local artists, environmental initiatives and community groups, including No Limits integrated dance group, Grace & Growl elders group, Bridport Youth Dance and the Dance Weavers, regenerative fashion and flax initiatives, and residents from a local residential home in West Bay.

Together, these groups are helping shape a project that belongs to the community.

Earth My Earth is a one day public event on the 13th September, with performances, workshops, installations, sustainable-living activities and a shared community meal.

Please do join on the 12th a clothes swap and repair workshop event from 3PM until 5PM.

Why we need your support

We want Earth My Earth to remain free and accessible to everyone.

Your donation will help cover the practical costs of bringing the project to life — supporting participating community groups, artists and volunteers, alongside essential travel, materials and production costs.

But our responsibility doesn't end when the performance does.

Clothing and fabric collected through the project needs somewhere meaningful to go afterwards. We are already speaking with universities, fashion students and charities interested in taking unwanted clothing and textiles, including interest from fashion education in Bournemouth.

Your support will help us sort, redistribute and transport these materials, giving them the opportunity to become educational resources, new creative work or useful clothing rather than simply becoming waste.

Your donation doesn't just help fund a performance.

It helps keep an international community arts project free and accessible in Bridport. It supports the people giving their time and creativity to make it happen. And it helps us turn our environmental message into practical action — before, during and after the event.

Every contribution, however small, helps.

Earth My Earth. Earth OUR Earth.

Please support our Crowdfunder and help us make it happen.
