Aim

Aiming to raise half of our 2023 campaign through Crowdfunder, providing essential & invaluable support to our 2023 recording projects.

Into our third year of recording with Delphian Records, we must raise just shy of £30K to support our 2023 recording projects; simultaneously pushing ahead with another heritage recording, this time a lost Iberian master called Francisco Garro (whose quatercentenary is this year!), and recording the first half of an Advent and Christmas sequence of music and readings called 'Advent Calendar', in partnership with our former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams.

In the past year, every funding application we have made has been unsuccessful. We decided to push ahead with our recording and research, in the hope that we could stir enough interest for this neglected music which we care so much about.

There are a number of ways you can support us:

Pre-order the glorious soundworld of Lisbon's Capela Real (Chapel Royal), exactly 400 years on. Harp, lute, up to ten voices, sackbutt (early trombone) and cornett realise this music, being recorded for the very first time.

Order all three EPV CDs so far. Order our Gramophone-nominated first recording of Robert Fayrfax and Tudor Music Afterlives (including the first Anglican Psalm ever composed alongside other glorious music which lived an afterlife, alongside Francisco Garro.

Order a copy of S.S. Wesley - Great Choral Music - to be released on Delphian Records this summer. The Choir of the National Musicians' Church, directed by Toby Ward features nine EPV musicians in the ranks. The recording includes four works by Wesley, recorded for the first time. The organ (an unaltered Bishop) was chosen as it best represents the organs of Wesley's day.

Become a Friend of EPV, and receive a CD of our glorious Portuguese music, an invitation to the CD launch, and our monthly newsletter.

If you are considering a greater level of support please contact Toby at [email protected], who will be delighted to hear from you.
