We need to go back to ‘First Principles’ and think about a new 21st-century identity for our High Street.
Earlsdon High Street Needs you!
Calling all Earlsdon residents, including local businesses! A few weeks ago, we posted a message on Facebook asking how we all feel about our High Street. The feedback we received was phenomenal. You talked about your key issues and shared some innovative ideas.
Now that we have a groundswell of support building with local residents, businesses and councillors, we are looking to convene a more formal discussion workshop so we can all have our say and keep the fantastic momentum going.
The Council are supportive of this initial exploratory phase. But, they are also cautious as they don't want to be seen as favouring this constituency above others around Coventry. Our plan therefore is to independently raise £1500 to pay for a specialist to facilitate the workshop, making sure all views are recorded and pull a professional evaluation report together containing a list of the challenges, ideas and opportunities for us to present back to the Council for consideration.
I know we are all feeling the pinch of COVID-19 and the rising cost of living, but anything you could spare would be so appreciated and might make a difference to the future of our High Street and provide a richer community experience.
I really think we have the potential to do something special here and be front and centre of a local rejuvenation project that has residents and real people in the driving seat.
