New stretch target
If my stretch goal is reached, this will allow me to purchase more of the yarn and fibre bases to keep in stock. If I reach this goal, all pledgers will receive a second sticker of a different design.
Yarn is my life! I'm raising funds to have my own unique yarn spun, you won't have tried anything like it!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my project! I'm raising funds to finally have my own yarn spun, and I hope you'll help me achieve my goal.
My name is Lindsay Hutchinson (known to almost everyone as Hutch) and I'm the owner and creator behind Dye Candy.
Dye Candy happened totally by accident nearly 8 years ago, at a time when knitting and crocheting wasn't even on my radar. I've been an artist my whole life but always thought that I didn't have the patience for fibre crafts. At the time I specialised in dyeing fabric baby slings when a friend asked me to try dyeing some yarn for her. The rest, as they say, is history! This little side hustle has grown into something I still can't quite believe- I now solely support my family and every day I am so thankful that people love my work enough to buy it.
This project has been a dream of mine for quite a few years now, and if I'm honest, it's something I never thought would actually happen. I want to have my own yarn spun, but I want it to be unique, unusual and amazing. I've settled on a blend of fibres that I have experience with so I know how they feel, dye and handle. The bulk of my yarn will be a finer merino than I've had in any of my yarns to date, 80% 18.5 micron superwash merino. For the remaining 20% I wanted to add something that people won't expect and will want to try as soon as they see it: 10% each of banana and pineapple fibres will be rocking up to the party.
I've decided on a fingering weight yarn, which will come in around 400m per 100g skein and I am also specifying a high twist. In my opinion, high twist yarn always takes speckles better, and what is Dye Candy without a few speckles?!
Everyone who pledges will receive a hand drawn sticker made by my fair hand, and these won't be available anywhere else. You can also opt for various weights of dyed and undyed yarn or fibre, as I'm having tops made for spinners too. If you've ever fancied having a go at dyeing your own yarn, or have already tried and can't quite get the results you're aiming for, check out the Improver and DIY packages!
I really hope you'll help me fund this dream of mine and take Dye Candy to the next level!
love Hutch xx
